MRI with Sedation Instructions

You have been scheduled to have an MRI of your breasts with IV conscious sedation. Please follow these instructions the day of the test:

• You must not eat or drink anything the day of the exam. Sedation cannot be given to patients who have eaten a meal.
• You must bring someone to drive you home. Sedation cannot be given to a patient without an accompanying driver.

On the day of the test, plan to arrive at Saint Joseph East Hospital 1.5 hours prior to your appointment time. Because you are scheduled to receive sedation, you must have an IV.

Please come to 160 North Eagle Creek Drive to be registered for the procedure. Registration is located across the foyer from the Breast Center. Please check in there and staff will direct you where to go next.
