Breastfeeding Education
A lactation counselor offers a class designed to encourage and promote healthy breastfeeding.
Breast-fed babies have: 1. Fewer infections 2. Decreased rate of SIDS and other forms of infant death 3. Lower rates of childhood cancer and diabetes 4. Better brain development and a higher IQ 5. Decreased risk of childhood obesity
Moms who breast-feed have: 1. Decreased risk of cancer and osteoporosis 2. Quicker/easier recovery from childbirth 3. Improved feelings of attachment to baby 4. Quicker return to pre-pregnancy weight 5. Convenience, comfort and closeness to baby
