Who do we support?
The Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation's mission is accomplished through funding current programs and services. The Foundation raises and manages these funds through a variety of sources, including an annual campaign, direct mail, annual giving societies, trusts, estate gifts, and of course, the Employee Campaign. Please take a moment and read the below descriptions of the current programs:
Appalachian Outreach Program - Sisters of Charity of Nazareth and Sisters of other orders counsel over 10,000 Saint Joseph patients each year in central and eastern Kentucky. This program focuses on patients with heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, and nutrition concerns. In addition, the Sisters provide pastoral and social services.
Saint Joseph Free Health Clinic - The Free Health Clinic provides care to patients that would not otherwise have access to primary care in Lexington and to those that may not be insured.
Eastern Kentucky Mobile Clinic -The Mobile Clinic travels throughout several counties in Eastern Kentucky offering primary healthcare services to patients who do not have health insurance to receive needed treatment.
Employee/United Way Campaign - Each year, the Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation, along with the United Way of the Bluegrass, asks Associates to put their dollars to good use. The campaign encourages the Saint Joseph family to contribute to various programs that serve the community and promote the mission and values of Saint Joseph.
Clinical Nursing Scholarships - This program provides one and two-year scholarships to deserving nursing students at area colleges and universities.
