Monica Choi, PharmD (R8)

Pharmacy Practice Resident

Dr. Choi is originally from Louisville, Kentucky and a graduate of the University of Kentucky, where she received her Doctor of Pharmacy in May of 2013. In addition to her degree, she received a Certificate in Gerontology in 2012 through the UK College of Public Health with the purpose of broadening her knowledge in geriatric studies. Her professional interests are widely varied, including geriatrics, ambulatory and palliative care, oncology, internal medicine, and pediatrics. Dr. Choi intends to develop her pedagogic skills through completing the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Certificate Program offered by the University of Kentucky. Her research focus is yet to be determined, but intends to utilize her learning to secure a position in clinical hospital pharmacy practice and apply it in effective patient care. In her free time she enjoys serving at her church, watching movies, travelling through cities and exploring new places to eat, and spending time with her husband as a newlywed.

 

Katee Lira, PharmD (R9)

Pharmacy Practice Resident

Katee is originally from Champaign, IL and received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in May of 2013 from Butler University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Indianapolis, IN. Her current practice interests include ambulatory care, geriatrics, and academia. Katee plans to complete The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Certificate Program offered by the University of Kentucky to enhance her teaching skills as she hopes to be involved with teaching in her future career. Upon completion of her PGY1 residency, she plans to pursue a specialized PGY2 residency in ambulatory care. Ultimately, her goal is to obtain a clinical position in an outpatient setting that is affiliated with a teaching position at a college of pharmacy. In her spare time she enjoys running, going to concerts, reading books for book club, and watching Butler Bulldogs basketball.

 

 

Abby Ricket, PharmD (R10)

Pharmacy Practice Resident

Dr. Ricket is originally from Pickerington, Ohio and received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in May of 2013 from Ohio Northern University.  Her current practice interests include internal medicine, infectious diseases, and palliative care.  Dr. Ricket plans to enhance her teaching and presentation skills through completion of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Certificate Program offered by the University of Kentucky.  Upon completion of her PGY1 residency, she plans to pursue a specialized PGY2 residency in internal medicine.  In her spare time she enjoys playing golf, cooking, exercising, and watching hockey.
